Should You Wait for the Raspberry Pi 6?
With the current price of the Raspberry Pi 5, it’s normal to think twice before buying one, especially if you think the Raspberry Pi 6 might be coming soon. But, should you really wait?
The Raspberry Pi 5 is more than enough for most projects, and the Raspberry Pi 6 isn’t expected to be released before 2028. So at this point, there’s really no reason to wait for the Raspberry Pi 6.
The Raspberry Pi 5 is still the best SBC out there, with different RAM options to suit any project you’ve got in mind. You probably won’t need anything more than what it has to offer, so waiting for the Pi 6 might be a disappointment since it’s likely to bring only minor improvements.

Check the book hereThe folks at Raspberry Pi haven’t said anything official yet, but they’ve made it pretty clear that the Pi 6 is still a few years away.
They’re probably going to wait for the RAM prices to come back down and hopefully for some new tech to be available before they release it. I mean, it would be pretty disappointing to get, like, a 10% CPU increase and nothing else.
So, at this point, I’m still recommending the Pi 5 if you can afford it, or an alternative if money is an issue. But waiting for a Pi 6 is clearly not the right strategy.
