Share Your Passion with the World: Write for Us!
Hey there!
I’m Patrick, the guy behind RaspberryTips. Until now, I’ve been the one creating all the content for this site, but it’s time to bring more flavors to this website. So, I’m on the hunt for some tech-savvy wordsmiths who share my passion for Raspberry Pi and Linux.
Want to share your expertise on this website?
Looking to make a little extra cash to support your hobby?
Then stick around. This might be the ideal gig for you.
Here’s the deal:
I’ll pay you 3 cents for every word you write. Most articles here are between 1,000 and 3,000 words in length. So, you can expect to earn between $30 and $90 per article.
The length of the article is determined by the topic. I’ll let you know how long your article should be upfront, so you’ll always know how much you should make.
I’m looking for some consistency in publishing. I expect each writer to deliver two articles each month. Deadlines are super important. If you miss a publishing date, we’ll have to part ways. On the flip side, if you’re looking for more work, you’re more than welcome to take on additional articles.
As for the legal stuff, we’ll see that later, but for the short version: I’m based in France, but I’m open to writers from anywhere in the world. Just remember, this is a freelance gig. It’s your responsibility to sort out your local laws. All I need is an invoice from you (PayPal can generate one for you).
When it comes to ownership, I need to be clear. Any photos, videos, written content, or any media you submit to RaspberryTips.com becomes mine. Sorry, but you won’t be able to republish that content on your own site or anywhere else.
Interested? Then hit that apply button below! I’ll be getting in touch with successful candidates as and when spots open up. Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from me.
Can’t wait to work with you. Here’s to expanding the RaspberryTips family!
Your Journey to Become a Writer on RaspberryTips
Thinking about throwing your hat in the ring? Awesome! Here’s a little peek into what the journey from application to becoming an official RaspberryTips writer looks like:
- Application:
You fill out the application form I’ve set up on Google. It’s pretty straightforward. - Applications review:
I dive into all the applications. If yours ticks all the right boxes, I’ll reach out to you for a writing test. Don’t worry if you don’t hear from me right away – I receive a bunch of applications, and I only check them when I need someone new. - Guidelines and first test:
You’ll get an email from me with detailed guidelines. This will tell you everything you need to know about writing an article, snapping the perfect screenshots, formatting your tutorial, and more. I’ve even included some handy videos to walk you through it all.
Along with the guidelines, I’ll send you a topic for your test article. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a fantastic post within a week that matches these guidelines. - Feedback time:
After you’ve sent me your draft, one of three things will happen:- If your article is perfect, it will be posted quickly on the website (probably won’t happen on the first try, but who knows!)
- If there are minor changes needed, I’ll send it back for revisions.
- If it’s just not what I’m looking for, I’ll have to reject it directly.
Don’t worry, your effort for the test article isn’t for nothing. You’ll get paid for it, whether we continue this journey together or not.
- Training time:
If your first test article is a hit, we’ll repeat the process for one or two more articles.
Assuming all goes well, you’ll become an official writer for RaspberryTips.
Once you’re part of the RaspberryTips family, you’ll have access to the backend and your writer’s bio at the end of your articles.
I’ll then expect a steady flow of articles from you, following a schedule we’ll agree on beforehand.
As for topics, I call the shots. I’ll be the one giving you the subjects for your articles.
Occasionally, you’ll get a few options to choose from, but expect to have a single topic that you’ll need to write about.
Your topic ideas are always welcome, just keep in mind they need my green light before you start writing about them.
So that’s the journey, from clicking ‘apply’ to becoming a key part of the RaspberryTips content team. It might seem like a long road, but every step is important in making sure we’re a perfect match. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
